Since it is Black History Month, I wanted to take the opportunity to highlight the importance of this month as we honour the central role in history that people of colour have played.

The historical arrangement of parenting time being only every other weekend and one evening during the week for a parent is not the only option and in many cases not a preferred option. There are many variations to what your parenting time can look like, and you can be creative with this as long as you keep in mind the best interests of your child(ren).

We exist in a culture that encourages freedom of speech. We now use social media to convey every thought with little time for reflection before pressing send. How does a parent’s freedom of speech get impacted when posting about his/her children?
